Akaka Bill: The Office of Hawaiian Affairs is Not Listening to the Will of the Hawaiian People Regarding the Akaka Bill

This is what the Hawaiian people want: They are saying “NO to the Akaka Bill.”

A picture is worth a 1000 words:

Stop the Akaka Bill

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs does some good for some Hawaiians. However the Office of Hawaiian Affairs is not listening to the will of the Hawaiian people about the Akaka Bill. They posted an announcement recently and titled it, “OHA applauds passage of the Hawaiian Recognition Bill in the U.S. House.” With all due respect to some people at the Office of Hawaiian Affairs this is not what the Hawaiian people want.

An excerpt of their post:

“The Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) is very pleased that H.R. 2314 Substitute Amendment known as the Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act (NHGRA) passed out of the U.S. House of Representatives today,” said Board of Trustees Chairperson Haunani Apoliona. She added, “Today’s vote is a major step in the century-long effort of Native Hawaiians to reconcile the history of past injustice and move forward together for all of Hawai‘i.”
